Description AltMazter 2005-08-23 15:18:56 UTC
Version: 3.3.2 (using KDE KDE 3.3.2)
Installed from: Debian testing/unstable Packages
OS: Linux

For some reason (most likely a update from the community) Kcontrol does not have control over anything anymore. The list on the left where my Appearances and Devices and whatsmore should be is empty.

I've restarted KDM and even created a new user but Kcontrol gives me nothing to control.

This problem might be linked to the problem that arose at the same time of not having a menu structure anymore. The Kmenu is empty. Restart and new user don't fix there anything either.

Expected Behaviour: like with previous updates of the system that might influence Kcontrol I expected just the removal of desktop and font settings (quite annoying as well but since I didn't have problems anymore I expected them to be finally fixed... guess it's back with a vengeance :( ).

Regarding the comment of having no menu structure anymore:
Seems they moved the menu to ~/.local/share
Now I only have to find out who to kick for moving that around and how to restore that.

Maybe the Kcontrol listings got moved around as well? If so, how to fix?
