Version: 2.0.1 (using KDE 3.4.1 Level "a" , SUSE 9.3 UNSUPPORTED) Compiler: gcc version 3.3.5 20050117 (prerelease) (SUSE Linux) OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.11.4-21.7-default Unable to set tape block size above 99bytes. Using tapes formatted with this version, even with "variable tape size" checked in settings, backups that used to take a few hours take 24-48 hours (or more) to complete. Tapes formatted with kdat with the earlier version (at 512 block size) which contain successful backups are not recognized in the current version. They cannot be mounted - error message: "reading magic string failed" In a prior version of kdat I was able to set the tape byte size to 512 and successfully used it to backup and restore. I am using a SCSI Seagate STD68000N with 4mm DAT tapes.
