Version:           3.4.90 (using KDE 3.4.90 (alpha1, >= 20050806), compiled sources)
Compiler:          gcc version 3.3.5 20050117 (prerelease) (SUSE Linux)
OS:                Linux (i686) release 2.6.11.4-21.7-default

I can browse the menu in Konqueror with the help of applications:/ but whenever I click on an icon to launch the application it will start KWrite and show the .desktop file :-(

Please do not close my bug because you think it is a duplicate. I compiled the code today from SVN but the other bug was fixed in Mai 2005!
This can not be a duplicate of the other bug!

Sorry, got confused by the alpha tag... But it also works for me, kdelibs r448784, kdebase r449029.

my kdelibs is 451278 and kdebase is 451580
Did you remove you ~/.kde folder? I started without one today.

This is still present here in KDE 3.5 beta 2

I bump the Severity because I think the io slave is useless with this bug.

I go and close this because I can not reproduce this with KDE 3.5 in the released version anymore.
