Description Beat Fasel 2005-08-14 14:26:59 UTC
Version: 1.5.2 (using KDE KDE 3.4.2)
Installed from: Unspecified Linux
OS: Linux

It would be nice to allow for a menu option to automatically name sessions (in the tabs) after the current directory and/or computer name. I think this would be more useful than the default naming being Shell, Shell No. 2 etc.

This bug report is related to the closed bug report No 47684. The latter was closed due to a shell workaround that was presented in the comment section and which apparently satisfied the original bug reporter. I think however this is flawed as most people I encounter and which use konsole have unfortunately never heard of this possibilily due to a lack of visibility (I think that a menu option would increase the visibility). Also, having this option built-in would save people post-installation time. Each time I install a new computer, I have to manully adapt the .bashrc to allow for this feature. As the command is a bit cryptic, I have to look it up on the internet time after time.

Thanks,
Beat

Good suggestion.

Implemented via live tab titles in KDE 4.
