Version: 3.4.2 (using KDE KDE 3.4.2) Installed from: Gentoo Packages Currently the options to display an event in the agenda view and the month view are limited. The background color is the color associated with the catagory and then you have the option to place a small, 2px, boarder around the event based on the resource. I propose that the background color be selectably driven from either the resource or the catagory color. In addition to this i would like to propose display modifiers to accent the specific catagories. For instance, say you have an overdue todo on your calendar. Currently it would show up red, but what if it stayed the color of the resource, pending that change, but also showed a little animated rotating light much like a police light. Now that is cool. But functional. Here is the thing one could impliment a class called KOAgendaItemModifer. This would be an interface with several concreate classes that define different behaviors. KOAgendaItemModiferBorder would be one option that would place a boarder around the event. This would mimic the current functionality. But there could also be KOAgendaItemModifierImage which could handle both static and animated images. The possabilities are endless. Along with this I also propose that the configuration dialogs be modified appropriatly. A new pane for the configuration of the catagories. It is here that you would specifiy which modifier, if any, you wanted associated with a catagory. It should be understood that an overdue todo is a builtin catagory. I think that this sounds like a lot but, probibly not too bad. I have been looking at the code. Users would love the beuty (or disaster) that they create on the screen and praise korganizer for its configurability. Plus, this would be one up on the Evolution app. What do you all think...
Opps, title should be changed to the following... Communication of resource and catagory though image modifiers
