Version:           1.1.2 (using KDE KDE 3.4.2)
Installed from:    Gentoo Packages
Compiler:          GCC-3.4.4 
OS:                Linux

When I start Akregator a window pops up for Name/Password and has a checkbox for 'Keep Password', but it does not work. This is not a regression from 3.4.1. This is a normal http:// site, and the wallet is open when attempting this.

OK, I'm sorry for the waste of time, I didn't understand how to correctly work the 'Wallet'.
