Description Cosmo Freund Lee 2005-07-26 06:31:11 UTC
Version: (using KDE KDE 3.4.0)
Installed from: Debian stable Packages
OS: Linux

Korganizer 3.4, Debian Linux

I have a To-Do Filter created that specifies "Hide inactive to-dos"

Example:

It is now 11:00 am. I create a To-Do with a Start Time of 12:00pm, and a Due Time of 1:00pm. After creating this To-Do, it is not visible in the To-Do list nor the Calendar, which is correct behavior, since it is inactive.

However, at 12:00pm, when the "Start Time" passes, the formerly inactive To-Do does not become visible in the To-Do list nor the Calendar. I am assuming that the To-Do becomes "active" when the Start Time passes.

The only way to see the item in the To-Do list is to click View-->Update. However, it is still not visible in the Calendar.

The To-Do doesn't become visible in the Calendar when the Due Date Time passes, unless the View is Updated. I have noticed that the To-Do may become visible after the Due Date Time, but not until hours afterwards.

Shouldn't the item become visible in the To-Do list and the Calendar once the Start Date Time passes? Seems like some kind of auto screen-refresh might do the trick...

The only check KOrganizer currently does is if we passed a day, so the switch from 23:59 to 0:00 will be detected (maybe not immediately, but KOrganizer detects it).

A timer which updates the todo view every 15 minutes would make sense.

Reassigning all KOrganizer bug reports and wishes to the newly created
korganizer-devel mailing list.

This bug has only been reported for versions before 4.14, which have been unsupported for at least two years now. Can anyone tell if this bug still present?

If noone confirms this bug for a Framework-based version of korganizer (version 5.0 or later, as part of KDE Applications 15.08 or later), it gets closed in about three months.

Just as announced in my last comment, I close this bug. If you encounter it again in a recent version (at least 5.0 aka 15.08), please open a new one unless it already exists. Thank you for all your input.
