Description greatbunzinni 2005-07-23 13:26:33 UTC
Version: 3.2.1 (using KDE KDE 3.4.1)
Installed from: Unspecified Linux

Even if the option "read last project at startup" is disabled, KDevelop still tries to read the last project which was opened. To see this behaviour just create a new project, save it, close KDevelop, delete the project's files and reopen KDevelop. After doing this, KDevelop displays an error message, claiming it can't read the last project's files.

This behaviour happens with any project which is included inthe "open recent project" list and was deleted.

Works fine here. (as of KDevelop 3.3.1) I get no error message on startup and kdevelop notices that the file is missing and does not add it to my recent projects list.

Forgive me for spoiling your lunch but I'm running KDevelop 3.3.1 and this problem persists.

Try this: create a project, open it, close it and close KDevelop. Then manually delete that project's folder. Then reopen KDevelop. You will get an error message claiming that KDevelop couldn't read the project's file.

I can reproduce it, but only if "load last project at startup" is ENABLED and I don't close the project before I close KDevelop.

I find this to be quite reasonable behaviour when a project "unexpectedly" goes missing.

i attempted to reproduce the bug exactly as you have described in the original report and cannot reproduce it. if you have more info on how i can actually reproduce the bug, then we can reopen it.

I've just re-checked the "configure"->"configure kdevelop" menu option and the "open last project on startup" option is indeed disabled. Strange.

But fair enough. Let's see if new info comes up.
