Version:           v0.8.4 (using KDE 3.4.0 Level "b" , SUSE 9.3)
Compiler:          gcc version 3.3.5 20050117 (prerelease) (SUSE Linux)
OS:                Linux (i686) release 2.6.11.4-21.7-default

After upgrading to KDE 3.4.0 kget is always in the offline mode. The "offline" icon is grayed out.

You chan try to delete the KGet config file.

rm $HOME/.kde/share/config/kgetrc

Thank you, it works now.
I was too lazy to find and delete the configuration file, I must 
confess.

It works for me. Improving other areas of the program is more important than bulletproof config file reading, I think.
