Version: (using KDE 3.3.2, (3.1)) Compiler: gcc version 3.3.6 (Debian 1:3.3.6-5) OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.8-2-686 It would be nice if the Koffice applications were able to switch languages (dictionaries and encodings) according the current keyboard layout. For those whos often type documents which containt text on different languauges it is very hard to open the settings dialog, switch the dictionary, encoding, languauge, etc everytime (for example 3-4 or more times within one document).
Making it simpler would perhaps be a good idea, but as far as I know, it is impossible to probe the keyboard to get the current layout. So doing it automatically can't be done. Can you give us an idea of how you would like it to work?
Hi, For example the keyboard switching applet generate messages like: "the language is now...", the Koffice application receive this message and set the correct dictionary, etc. against this message. I know this wish is probably for the keyboard switching applet (too), but IMO in KDE Koffice is the only one application which may require this feature. Or if it not possible then it would be nice if the dictionary switcher will be placed at the more accessible place. Thanks. Serja Inge Wallin пишет: [bugs.kde.org quoted mail]
Thank you for your bug report or feature suggestion. The "KOffice" application suite is no longer maintained, and all tickets are now closed. We recommend to switch to the "Calligra" application suite, which has replacements for all unmaintained KOffice applications: - KWord was replaced with Calligra Words - KPlato was replaced with Calligra Plan For more information, see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Calligra_Suite (This is an automatic message from the KDE bug triaging team)
