Version: 0.7.3-beta2 (using KDE 3.4.89 (>= 20050615), compiled sources) Compiler: gcc version 3.3.5 20050117 (prerelease) (SUSE Linux) OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.11.4-21.7-smp Hi! most digital cameras now allow to record avi files and henc are in the same directory as the pcitures. IMHO they should be available too on the HTML page - either with or without picture. cu
you need to install xine_artsplugin from kdemultimedia; it provides a videothumbnail creator. your distribution might have packaged it under a different name
I compield from SVN, and I think its there -rwxr-xr-x 1 kdesvn users 1494 2005-06-17 16:15 /daten/kdesvn/KDEHEAD/lib/kde3/videothumbnail.la* -rwxr-xr-x 1 kdesvn users 248309 2005-06-17 16:15 /daten/kdesvn/KDEHEAD/lib/kde3/videothumbnail.so* but digikam seems not to pick it up.
the videothumbnail will be affected by the maxsize for file preview setting in kcontrol. see if you are able to see any thumbnails for these files in konqueror.
may be this is the problem - even if I set the size to 90MB no thumbnail is displayed in konqueror for a 3 MB avi file. the process is startet, but nothing happens, no CPU activity no disk activity. kdesvn 4780 4608 0 21:18 ? 00:00:00 kio_thumbnail [kdeinit] thumbnail /tmp/ksocket-kdesvn/klauncherq6xABa.slave-socket /tmp/ksocket-kdesvn/konquerorIf4Efb.slave-socket BTW IMHO it's not so good if the setting for konqueror, where speed matters, are used for digikam and HTML-export, where the feature is needed to generate usefull output.
afaik, we are not allowed override the default setting when using the videothumbnail creator.
Do you mid to reopen this bug?
i can reassign this report to kdelibs. out here the thumbnails are generated fine for video thumbnails both in konqueror and in digikam.
yes please may be it should be mentioned that 2 different settings are needed, (or that the maximum filesize should be overwritable at runtime for apps like HTML-export)
reassigning to xine_artsplugin.
Arts is no longer developed and has been unmaintained for quite some time - more than 2 years. With phonon as the replacement for arts in KDE4, we're closing out all the arts bugs in Bugzilla since there is no chance of them being fixed. Thanks
