Description F Reifenstahl 2005-06-17 16:52:22 UTC
Version: 2.4.1 (using KDE 3.4.1 Level "a" , SUSE 9.3 UNSUPPORTED)
Compiler: gcc version 3.3.5 20050117 (prerelease) (SUSE Linux)
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.11.11

It's strange: about 10 days ago I tried to do as I'll now tell, and it really worked...o.k., I keep KDE current (at least one check/update a week), but I am always using stable(?!) SUSE rpms.

Opening a remote 40 MB file kate crashes without any message. Meanwhile watching "top" shows that kate bloats itself up to more than 700MB until killed by the no longe amused kernel... :/

Without more info, can't fix, sorry.
