Version: unknown (using KDE 3.4.0 Level "b" , SUSE 9.3) Compiler: gcc version 3.3.5 20050117 (prerelease) (SUSE Linux) OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.11.4-21.7-default I'm using a Dell inspiron 5000e with Suse 9.3 - full install - and am not able to get a print preview when printing to my HP Colorjet 1120c. The install is a stock install with no plugins. The print preview screen appears with the "print and cancel" icons and, what appears to be, the bottom pixels of a line of text in the middle of the screen surrounded by the box that would normally hold the preview. The background of the preview screen is the same color as the rest of the print preview screen borders. Hope this helps - and thank you for the wonderful product!

That looks scary. Does printing work from other KDE applications, like KMail or KWord?

The screenshot indicates that the postscript viewer part could not be created and embedded into the printing dialog... Anyway, this is not a problem of kontact, but or konqueror (according to your screenshot). Cheers, Reinhold
Reinhold Kainhofer wrote: [bugs.kde.org quoted mail] Thanks for your response. I guess I have to wait for kde to be fixed? Regards, Bob
Hi, I have the same problem, my print preview looks the same like the sreenshot above. I am also using SuSE 9.3 but with KDE 3.4.2 rpm packages. Sebastian
Hallo, its the same problem with Suse 10.0, KDE 3,4.2 Level B. Matthias
I think the nsplunginviewer might cause the problem. replacing the file associations for application/postscript from the nspluginviewer to kghostview, then it will show the print preview.
Aus dem linux-club.de Forum: Hi, setze mal bitte im Konqueror für den Dateityp .ps (postscript) den eingebetteten Betrachter auf KghostView (einfach die Reihenfolge ändern und Kghostview an 1. Stelle setzen. Dann klappts auch wieder ... Smile Bei mir hat das funktioniert. Matthias
i have this bug too (with konqueror, kate...) the file associations for application/postscript was always setting to KghostView
i have the same problem with kde 3.5
@ Marc (Comment #11): You need to to change the file association for the _embedded_ previewer, where you probably find nspluginviewer. Comment #9 from Matthias did help. The preview facility disappeared as described by the original poster here after deinstalling nspluginviewer. Obviously the file associations in KDE 3.5 didn't change automatically, i.e. the nspluginviewer was still listed.
Problem seems fixed; please follow the advices in comment 9 and comment 12
