Version: 3.4.0-5 Redhat (using KDE KDE 3.4.0) Installed from: Fedora RPMs OS: Linux Konqueror does not print html pages. Embedded pdfs will print. Clicking on print will show the page process dialog, and then if you have the print monitor running the document will appear with 0 pages. The page count should then increase as the page is printed, instead the document disappears from the print monitor after a short while. Kate displays the same behavior Print to pdf is broken: I've attached the error message, hopefully it's readable. ( sorry to post 3 errors in a single log , but I think they are all related. )
Created attachment 11187 [details] Error message when printing to pdf from konqueror This is the dialog window displayed when trying to print to pdf from konqueror.
Works fine for me.
Sounds like your ghostscript version fails to read the postscript files created by QT when printing. Is printing broken in all KDE applications? Maybe try a different ghostscript version and upgrade to latest QT version (3.3.4 I think)? Does not look like a KDE related problem to me.
I upgraded qt to the latest fedora version 3.3.4-14 and ghostscript to the latest fedora version 7.07-40. The good news is - I can now print html from konqueror to printer and to pdf AND kate now prints. The bad news is konqueror now segfaults on print ( after building and submitting the pages ). I thinking to downgrade qt ( to 3.3.4-12 ), however I'm seeing why that should help. Dik's probably right, it might not be a KDE problem per se <rant_mode>stupid GNOME centric fedora</rant_mode>
The error message originates from your Ghostscript installation. KDEPrint and kprinter do not convert by themselves to PDF, they call Ghostscript to do it. This is not a KDEPrint bug. Try to install a newer version of Ghostscript. (I recommend ESP Ghostscript, not GNU Ghostscript. And try the new version 8.15, RC1. It is great.) I'll close this bug report.
