Version: 3.4 (using KDE KDE 3.4.0) OS: Linux Double clicking on an event on the KOrganizer screen cause the event dialog to open full width of the screen. The height appears reasonable. Doing a new event opens a reasonable sized dialog.
What translation do you use?
I have no translations installed.
What makes the dialog that big? Is it a particular widget?
Not sure if it's the window or a widget within. If I resize the dialog narrower, everything within resizes nicely. If I close it then reopen it, it again reopens full width. BTW, just installed KDE 3.4.1, and the behavior is the same.
I have the same problem and noticed that in korganizerrc something is wrong with the value korganizer writes when he closes. The following happens: [Settings] DateNavigatorVisible=true ... TodoViewVisible=true Width 1280=1047 Width 3200=1511 Width seems to be wrong (why xxxx=yyyy) ? And he write a new width without deleting the others everytime. If I manually put a value, it is not respected...

It's not xxx=yyy, it's rather "If the whole screen has a width of 1280 pixel, the width of the dialog should be 1047. If the whole screen is 3200xSomething, the width should be 1511". So, korganizer allows resolution-specific widths (which is useful with a shared homedir on different machines with different resolutions). > And he write a new width without deleting the others > everytime. If I manually put a value, it is not respected... You need to change the correct Width XXXX entry, then it is respected. Cheers, Reinhold
I understand. Now i tried again with this new fact, but korganizer keeps overwriting my value and still displays appointement details in a window that spans my both screens... This is what i've done: Edit korganizerrc and wrote in [Settings] Width 3200=600 launch korg, open one appointement, close all windows The appointement windows remains too big.
I'm having the same problem described here with KDE 3.5 beta 2
Currently using kde 3.5.2, and the problem is still there... Tried playing around with the 'width' parameter, but to no avail...
Reassigning all KOrganizer bug reports and wishes to the newly created korganizer-devel mailing list.
This problem still happens for me on KDE 3.5.5 (Kubuntu Edgy). The window is absurdly wide on a 1920x1200 screen.
Confirmed in Kubuntu Gutsy. Qt: 3.3.7 KDE: 3.5.7 KOrganizer: 3.5.6 (enterprise 0.20070907.709405) I'm using also 1920x1200 (Hint?). $ grep Width /home/user/.kde/share/config/korganizerrc ColumnWidths=80,54,64,82,84,77,79,87 Width 1600=440 Width 1920=839 ColumnWidths=122,72,77,97,143,105 ColumnWidths=341,72,77,97,143,105 I've changed the KDE language from German to English, no difference. The "New Event"/"Edit Event" dialog gets opened occupying the full width, while it's about 560px high.
Rick, you've said, that "Doing a new event opens a reasonable sized dialog." - which I cannot confirm, using Actions -> "New Event" from the KOrganizer's application menu. Have you tried creating a "New To-Do" instead? (which opens a reasonable sized dialog) What screen resolution are you using?
Whatever the issue was, I am not seeing it on any of my current systems. The problem was on a system which I no longer have access to.
then I'm happy to close this.
Still happens (slightly different) for me in KDE 3.5.9. The difference is that the "New Event" is 1568x590 now (instead of 1920x590). I've noticed that "Width" is only defined in the MainWindow config section: [MainWindow] Height 1200=551 Width 1600=440 Width 1920=839 Is there supposed to be a section for "New Event"?
Reopen as per comment #16 Is this issue also replicatible in KDE 4.1?
No, seems to be fixed in 4.1 (on Ubuntu Intrepid). So, please close.
