Version: (using KDE 3.4.0 Level "b" , SUSE 9.3) Compiler: gcc version 3.3.5 20050117 (prerelease) (SUSE Linux) OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.11.4-20a-default Using the system instead of system notification work quite well. If I modify e.g. the Pitch-settings I can hear the proper sound, but this only lasts until the next startup of kde. Everything is set back to the default values and the sound is at 400 Hz again. A look at the configuration shows proper settings in the .kde/share/config/kcmbellrc file, but this does not seem to be taken into account on kde startup.
Likewise. I adjust the Volume and Duration, click Apply, and the configuration the .kde/share/config/kcmbellrc file continues to show proper (updated) settings every time I do this (which is EVERY time I log in!), but the desired System Bell ACTION lasts only as long as my current session. The next time I log in, the SETTINGS in the kcmbellrc file are still correct from when I set them before, but they are completely ignored. Then I must use "kcmshell bell" or Kcontrol/Bell again, and I see that all of Bell's settings have reverted back to their old, unwanted defaults. How do I tell KDE or get KDE to use *MY* values as the new defaults?
Hello! Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but this project has been unmaintained for many years so I am closing this bug. Kcontrol has been replaced by System Settings in Plasma. Please give the latest version of that a try, and open a new bug in "systemsettings" if you continue to have an issue. Thank you!
