Description Christian Lorch 2005-04-27 17:53:18 UTC
Version: 3.4 (using KDE 3.4.0 Level "b" , SUSE 9.3)
Compiler: gcc version 3.3.5 20050117 (prerelease) (SUSE Linux)
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.11.4-20a-default

heres my long description in english - bad english...

I would be happy if it could be possible to enter additional informations for each day, e.g. shift work info.
At the momenat i dont see any possibility which fits my wishes.
- maybe i could generate a "holiday-shiftworking-info-file" [dont know how] and source that. with the side effect of all days beeing painted red. Bad :-)

- entering the info as normal appointments (no matter if the dates are entered as all-day-appointments or as normal appointments) will confuse me and my time planning, at least when i will enter the working times of my girlfriend :-)

I'm dreaming of a possibility to enter them easily in korganizer and mark the infos as information related to one day. The info might be shown like a holiday, but without the chaning of the color of the day from black to red.

I hope that i could clarify my wishes and that someone is willing to implement them (or to point me to an howto :-)

Thanks!

This would be a really nice task for a KOrganizer plugin. (Perfectly suited for a Junior Job! Who is willing?)

A plugin can add a widget at the top of the agenda (like the holiday plugin does). We could e.g. add a widget with the text "N associated texts", and if you click on it, it would show a dialog box to edit them. The strings could then be shown in a tooltip, or on a mouse-click on the text.
Or you can show the strings already in that widget.

For an example see the datenums plugin (kdepim/korganizer/plugsin/datenums/) and the CalendarDecoration plugin API (kdepim/korganizer/interfaces/calendar/calendardecoration.h).

Cheers,
Reinhold

Reassigning all KOrganizer bug reports and wishes to the newly created
korganizer-devel mailing list.

Isn't journal what you need? On the journal you can add informations without interfer with the calendar.

No Journal doesnt work as I would like it for that tast (the Journal doesnt appear in the Calendar view). I would like to see additional information without blocking my free / work time. It might be, that it is important to know that something happens (school holidays, shiftworking times, ...). So that calender entry should remember me, not in the same manner like a task / job which needs reaction from my side.

what about the KJots it can be helpful to you .

I don't see how Kjots could help showing additional information on the calendar view in Korganizer. Did I miss something ?
