Description Jeremias Mueller 2005-04-25 01:20:24 UTC
Version: 1.5 (using KDE 3.4.0 Level "b" , SUSE 9.2 UNSUPPORTED)
Compiler: gcc version 3.3.4 (pre 3.3.5 20040809)
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.8-24.10-default

If I guess a right letter and it is in the first place, it won't be shown.
Trying the letter again , shows the 'already guessed' message.
After typing the last chance wrong, it shows up with the already guessed letter.

regards Jeremias

Do you play in German? Did you try to guess the first letter in upper case?
Please do try that and answer what it does, thanks

I confirm the existence of this bug and in response to the questions from Anne-Marie Mahfouf: I play it in German and type the first letter in upper case, and it appears in the miss list in lower case. For example, if I have _rühstück and type 'F', then 'f' appears in the miss list.

I should add (this may be a separate bug), that the default language of my system is English, but after I installed the German word list in KHangman, English is no longer selectable: in the configuration dialog, the dropdown list next to "Words are in" contains only German. I can see no way to get English back.

Then this is indeed a bad bug. I don't have the 3_4_BRANCH at the moment with the move to svn but as soon as I can set it up I'll test it.

What you can do at the moment (a bit tedious, I know, I'm very sorry) is to edit manually the level files (in $KDEDIR/share/apps/khangman) easy.kvtml, etc and put all upper case first letters lower case and then to play lower case. I hope this would work.

All my apologies about that!

Your suggestion to change the first letters to lower case in the data file fixed the problem: now when I have e.g. _eld and type 'g' (lower case) the correctly completed word is returned as 'Geld' (upper case 'G')! Thanks.
