Version: 1.8 (using KDE 3.4.0 Level "b" , SUSE 9.2 UNSUPPORTED) Compiler: gcc version 3.3.4 (pre 3.3.5 20040809) OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.8-24.14-default To reproduce: enter some search word in the line above the message list to filter for some messages. Press ctrl-A. All displayed messages are selected. Remove the search word above the message list. BUG: *Still*, all messages are selected. I would expect only the ones to be selected that I *saw* when I pressed Ctrl-A. I didn't dare to delete or move "all" selected ones because I don't know if KMail then acts on the displayed (filtered) list or the whole list. Please check this out. Thanks! :) Jens
It should not act on hidden entries. Can you please confirm this maybe by marking all mails with a status you don't normally use, say, todo?
That works as expected (the tag is applied only to the mails that were shown). But the above procedure: 1. enter filter string 2. click into message list (to focus it) 3. press ctrl-a 4. delete filter string does not work as expected (i.e., all messages are marked, and not just those that were visible when I pressed ctrl-a). Thanks! :) Jens
I can still reproduce this in KDE 4.1.1. As Till Adam noted what you describe is the expected behaviour. I'll therefore make this bug a wish instead.
Konquerors filemanagement behaviour is similar. Filter, select all, shift+delete does not delete just the selected items (which is intuitive), too bad ...
