Version: 3.7.1 (using KDE KDE 3.4.0) Installed from: SuSE RPMs OS: Linux Hi Kurt, Please regard this bug report as a bug/wishlist mixture. I still like your kbiff applet very much, but running it on KDE 3.4 (SuSE 9.3) doesn't really satify my needs. As a temporary workaround, I prepared two patches, which hackishly cures _my_ most dissatifying issues: - holding the imap connection (from advanced options) doesn't seem to work as expected. At least, without patch 1, cyrus is logging a open connection for every monitored folder, filling up the log file for no good reason. Although I tried to understand the problem to solve it correctly, I failed :( Sorry - the notification dialog is opened in background. While I understand, that KDE now tries to suppress focus stealing attempts, the benefit is questionable in this case (IMHO).. While at it, I disabled the attempt to center the dialog, which is what I prefer at least.. Another issue, I couldn't come up with a fix for is switching to kmail via the Email Programm button in the notification dialog. While checking for email in kbiff context menu seems to do, what it should, "read email now" don't, which could be related to the KDE policy from issue 2.. I even tried to manually switching to kmail via dcop, but that failed also (probably because I'm a dcop novice :(). In a perfect world, it would switch to kmail and _open_ the first monitored folder with new mail. I'm prepared to do, whatever is necessary in supporting you with fixing these issues..
Created attachment 10650 [details] kbiff: force imap keepalive
Created attachment 10651 [details] don't center notification, but raise the dialog
kbiff is no more mantained in both KDE4 and KDE 3.5.
