Description Anders 2005-04-12 14:08:51 UTC
Version: 1.7.1 (using KDE KDE 3.4.0)
Installed from: Compiled From Sources
Compiler: gcc 3.4.3
OS: Linux

The editor reacts slowly on keypresses. If a key is held down for a while to repeat the keypress Kile seems to buffer every one of these and execute them when possible. This is awfully anoying, especially with the backspace. If a few words are deleted this way, the cursor can go on deleting one more row or so after the key has been released.

Can you open the same file in Kate and check if it has similar behavior?

best,
Jeroen

Hi!

Thanks for the quick response.

Tested Kate now. It has similar behavior. Must have been some other strange
thing going on yesterday though, because today the editor responds much
faster. But still the cursor moves on a few characters after a button is held
down and then released, similar responsetime as Kate.
I guess that it can be considered a more normal behavior now.

/Anders

Could be some regression fixed in KDE 3.4.x already, but at least in KDE 3.5 beta, I have no such problems.
