When the printing wizard plugin is present, it should replace the default printing functionality of Digikam. The printing wizard is currently difficult to find in Digikam, while the default printing function offers little output control.

IMO this wish has to be closed. Album menu has not any print menu
and you can use export to print wizard plugin as asked for.

The new Print Creator tool integrated in digiKam core provide only the way to make complex layout of printing page, using multiple items from collections.

This tool, avaialble in Tools menu entry from AlbumGUI, Image Editor, Light Table, and Showfoto do not replace the way to simple print a single image from File menu.

Both options are different in fact.
