Description Bobby 2005-03-23 19:46:41 UTC
Version: 0.15 (using KDE 3.4.0 Level "a" , SUSE 9.2 UNSUPPORTED)
Compiler: gcc version 3.3.4 (pre 3.3.5 20040809)
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.11.1-20050307183958-default

I have really enjoyed Kopete's Now Listening plugin and would like to see the same thing in Konversation. The plugin allow the user to type '/media' in their IM message windows and when the message gets sent its replaced with information about what the sending is currently listening too.

There will be a media script in 0.16 release which will be released tomorrow.

and if you're going to wait to get 0.16 (although i couldn't think why") you can use the separate, /juk, /amarok, /noatun (and /kaffeine?) scripts included in 0.15.1

I quite agree with the previous opinion :)
But could you please improve the "now listening" plugin so the user can change the line saying "now playing ..." with something else.

Thanks in advance. :)

What do you have in mind? It would be good to find a way to provide i18n for
scripts.

Well,I think that the user should be able to specify the /me action when
playing a song and that action has to be saved, because it'd be annoying to
type it everytime you want to say in the channel that you're playing song x
Here's a simple example :
English is not my mother tongue,so I would like insted of "/me is now playing
x.y.mp3" to say in the channel "/me слуша песента x.y.z.mp3"

Here's how I see the improvement : In the settings dialog there would be
something like "media plugin" section,in which the user will be able to type
in the message to be displayed when he/she types /media.

Please ask me if you don't understand something.

Ok I got the idea but this won't be easy as its not a plugin, its just a dcop
script. I will think of a solution though.
