Version: 3.4 (using KDE KDE 3.4.0) Installed from: Unlisted Binary Package Compiler: gcc 3.4.3 OS: Linux I am experiencing the same bug 38363 after i upgraded to kde 3.4. I am using the packages distributed by Arch Linux. I erased my previous kde install along with my .kde and .kderc files. The korganizer daemon always shows up at startup, even when i disable the checkmark "start alarm client at login" Is this a bug on kde 3.4 or it is only in arch linux packages?
This is my korganizerrc file: [$Version] update_info=korganizer.upd: korganizer_3.4_GroupwareCleanup,korganizer.upd: korganizer_3.4_WebExport,korganizer.upd:korganizer_3.4_FilterAction,korganizer.upd:korganizer_3.4_HolidayPlugin (All on one line)
I can confirm this bug exists in the all the KDE 3.4.x Gentoo packages as well. Cheesy not-a-real-fix workaround: I manually edited ~/.kde/share/config/korgacrc and change Autostart=true to Autostart=false. However each time I used the korgac daemon it would change the file back to Autostart=true. I re-edited it and changed the file to read only. However it isn't an ideal work around because every time KDE starts up it complains the file is read-only. (My apologies ladies and gents but I forgot to file a bug b/c it was finals week.) I am now running 3.5beta2 and just tested it and the bug no longer exists. Test was as follows: Test #1 (3.5beta2) Start korgac Set "Start Reminder Daemon at Login" Logout Login Unset "Start Reminder Daemon at Login" Logout Login RESULT: No korgac daemon running (This was _NOT_ so in 3.4.x) Test #2 (3.5beta2) Still Logged in from previous test. Unset "Start Reminder Daemon at Login" Close korgac Launch korgac RESULT: "Start Reminder Daemon at Login" is _NOT_ set. (This was not so in 3.4.x) P.S. Thanks to all who contribute to KDE! You all rock! I've _NEVER_ been happier with a desktop environment! Christopher Gahlon lists@gahlon.com
I believe one of these is a duplicate of the other. http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=113398
