Compiler:          gcc version 3.3.5 (Debian 1:3.3.5-8)
OS:                Linux (i686) release 2.6.10

The example 2.6 (reading the help-center) shows:
Example 2.6. Replacing & with &amb; in HTML document

That should most probably be amp, not amb.
