Version:           3.2.1 (using KDE 3.2.3,  (3.1))
Compiler:          Konsole 1.3.2 
OS:                Linux

It won't let me put in the password until i hit enter then it exits the program and says (session "root console" exited with status 1) and the program exits and it does the same thing over and over it won't let me log in for some reason.

Would you mind explaining from the start? Please retrace your steps: what you clicked, what you typed, what it said.

Doubtful this is Konsole related.  Likely a su/sudo problem.

Reopen if it works in xterm... and then explain the problem better.
