Description Mohd Asif Ali Rizwaan 2005-03-02 07:48:46 UTC
Version: unknown (using KDE 3.3.2, compiled sources)
Compiler: gcc version 3.3.4
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.4.29

Which Behaviro of Status-bar to be like toolbar:

1. Position: allow status bar to be placed/positioned above/below
2. Settings menu->Show/Hide Statusbar to get some precious space at the bottom. and allows less code for applications which required status bar hiding.
3. like Opera browser, statusbar can be placed beside toolbar.

The advantages of statusbar behaving as toolbar:

1. Less code for KDE apps to hide/show statusbar, HTML and Graphics and Multimedia applications where view-area is more needed, must have to hide status bar. Even the filemanager gives more viewable area with the status-bar.

2. Allows individual users to show/hide status bar to get more viewable space for better reading, watching.

Hi,

kdelibs (version 4 and earlier) is no longer maintained since a few years.

KDE Frameworks 5 or 6 might already have implemented this wish.

If not, please re-open against the matching framework if feasible or against the application that shows the issue.

We then can still dispatch it to the right Bugzilla product or component.

Greetings
Christoph Cullmann
