Description Daniel Franke 2005-03-01 13:52:45 UTC
Version: 3.4.0 (using KDE Devel)
Installed from: Compiled sources
Compiler: gcc-3.3
OS: Linux

User2 tries to open a PNG file that is owned by User1 (0600)

On attempt to open such a PNG, the statusbar states: "Unknown image format: <file>".
Instead, the message should state something as: "you don't have the rights to access this file" or similar - quite confusing otherwise.

Also note that this error is shown in the status bar.

It might be preferable to have the usual popup box.

I am confirming.
Comment 2 Daniel Franke 2005-10-30 14:49:16 UTC
Still valid in KDE-3.4.3 (on gentoo).
Comment 3 Daniel Franke 2006-08-20 17:03:29 UTC
KDE-3.5.4, still valid.

Kview is no more mantained/developed. This bug wish will not be fixed until a new developer will work on it. Moreover this product is not ported to KDE4. On KDE4 it has been replaced by another software. I'm closing this bug as "unmantained". I'm sorry.

Regards.
