Version: (using KDE KDE 3.4.0) Installed from: SuSE RPMs OS: Linux Since the upgrade to 3.4 RC1 I get the following error messages when having used the kaddressbook during the kontact session: .../share/apps/kabc/std.vcf blocked by application "" when I clos that one, another appears: error saving: could not get access to addressbook: resource-name This happens for every resource used. When I want to add an entry to a resource I get the first message, so kaddressbook is not useable at all.
Hi, just remove all files from $HOME/.kde/share/apps/locks/ Ciao, Tobias
> just remove all files from $HOME/.kde/share/apps/locks/ This worked, thanks. Yet how should a normal user find out about this? Maybe there should be an option to force it, or at least some information.
I had to remove two old lock files in a different path: $HOME/.kde/share/apps/kabc/lock/ (SuSE 9.2, KDE 3.3.2 with KDEPIM 3.4-2005020809) Now it works again.
*** Bug 100188 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. ***
I have been advised by Thiago Macieira to post a comment in this bug for the purpose of drawing Daniel Molkentin's attention to Bug 100188, which deals with a related problem arising from the behaviour described in this bug report.
This Bug (and of course Bug 100188) is still present in KDE-3.5.0. German error Message: Ressource '/home/sebastian/Adressbuch.vcf' gesperrt durch Programm ''. Thus I agree to Tristan Miller, that the bugs are NOT fixed!!!
It is all well to be able to seach the kde.org site / google the web for this fix, but some automated handling of the situation would have made me happier - my wifes reaction to the messages (when closing the kontact window) were "this is as good as BSOD - shouldn't you reboot" - which doesn't even fix the problem.
