Version: 1.7.1 (using KDE 3.3.0, Mandrake Linux Cooker i586 - Cooker) Compiler: gcc version 3.4.1 (Mandrakelinux (Alpha 3.4.1-3mdk) OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.8.1-12mdk I changed the Default Backgroundcolor, but want to change it to the default color back afterwards. However, if the default Backgroundcolor has been changed once it can not be set back to the Default Backgroundcolor. One can set the option, but it is not applied. Matthias

Default background color of exactly what? A default style, a style, the text area?
In my case it was the backgroundcolor of the math environment. In Kile-> Configure Editor->fonts & colors->highlighting text styles->Latex-Math --> Background. The field is with default set to 'canceled' (striked through). Now if I set a color, and want to reset it to canceled afterwards that does not work. The box remains blank. Thus the color that was set keeps set because it is not possible to reassign the original state. Clear now ? Matthias
Revision: 1.61, Wed Jan 19 15:48:16 2005 UTC (5 weeks, 3 days ago) by alund Branch: MAIN Changes since 1.60: +14 -18 lines * Only set QWhatsThis text once * use the contextMenuRequest now that we have it, avoid workarounds. * emit changed when a color is unset.
Cannot unset background color. (Just adding keywords for search -- as I couldn't find it at first)
In case anyone is still looking at this, I think I was having this same problem in 3.4.3 (meaning it is NOT fixed, or at least was not fixed as of February 2005 as the comments imply). See Bug 117479 for what I had to do to get it working.
I'm not sure if this was backported to the 3.4 branch. Try kate in KDE 3.5 please.
