Description Thibaut Cousin 2004-12-08 07:20:50 UTC
Version: 1.7.1 (using KDE 3.3.1 Level "a" , SUSE 9.2 UNSUPPORTED)
Compiler: gcc version 3.3.4 (pre 3.3.5 20040809)
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.8-24.5-default

If I remember correctly, this problem did not occur with the original KDE 3.3.1 release. But I'm using SUSE RPM, and I guess those packages are in sync with the BRANCH...

KMail has two minor but annoying refresh problems. I only have an IMAP account, I'm using KMail inside Kontact.

1) In the folder list, the numbers of new emails in each subfolders are sometimes not updated until I click somewhere in the folder list panel. More precisely, here is what happens in my case:
- I compose a new mail and send it.
- The mail is sent correctly. Normally, KMail briefly indicates one new email in my local outbox (I don't know why it wants to make mails go through the local outbox in a pure IMAP configuration, but it always behaved like that anyway). But now the local outbox reports one "new" message. As soon as I click anywhere in the folder list panel, it's refreshed and the new message in the local outbox vanishes.

2) In the message panel: the message list is OK, but sometimes (rather often, actually) when I click on a message in the message list, it is not displayed in the message panel, I only get an empty page, even the headers are not displayed. It's impossible to reproduced reliably, but it happens very often.
When it happens, it's random: sometimes, clicking on another message and then coming back to the first one solves the problem, sometimes not. Sometimes things get out of hand and almost all messages are affected. I quit KMail and launch it again, then things are back to normal for a while.
On the other hand, double-clicking on the message in the message list always works: the separate window always displays the message correctly.

Since those are refresh problems, it may be useful to add that my Qt is version 3.3.3 and X.org 6.8.1 has Composite *not* enabled.

Thanks for your attention!
