Sorry, I thought I marked the bug as "wish", but I was jus too late to discover that it was actually marked as being a bug. Is it possible to have it changed to wish? I posted this message to the Suse list and I'm glad someone else posted it here. Is the one big thing I miss. An alternative approach without developing an entire application is to at least provide the functionality that mozilla has for it's bookmarks. Moz allows you to enter key words for your bookmarks. You then can search through your bookmarks by typing in keywords you want to look up. This is a feature that would be great for Konq. With hundreds of bookmarks it makes it easy to find certain ones fast that might be in different folders. I also think that having keywords and maybe rating (can we call it rich bookmarks ?), a good search engine and server synced bookmarks would be useful! I'll vote this feature request =). exactly what I just wanted to paste here as a wish. Something like this could very well integrate in a desktop search application. By the way, I think hierarchical File Systems are outdated at least for user file storage! Somebody should address that problem and start a DB file system, where the files I put in there will be indexed, right when I put them there and no stupid daemon has to run in the background for indexing. The files are stored in there with a million attributes and the file manager interface lets me choose of those attributes, like "business, letter, last week". And when I want to copy this thing to disk then, it just produces a nice oldfashioned file. Same with bookmarks, ... Everything should be stored in the DB. Then we could finally get something like an integrated revisioning system up and running. Those desktop search apps are just a damn workaround to what really needs to be done. Let's innovate! Nobody has that yet! Ach ja, and the keywords for categorizing could be taken from the page keywords meta tag for example or maybe it is somehow possible to get some info from google for that?! I was just about to post the same wish, I was thinking along the lines of "tagging" in Digikam etc. Great idea, I have two panes of boomarks already and I am really overflooded by them :-) I think this is a duplicate of bug #128004 So, I'll make the same comment here : wouldn't this be a great place to use the power of nepomuk ? |
