Description Al Williams 2009-11-28 03:05:36 UTC
Version: (using KDE 4.3.2)
OS: Linux
Installed from: Ubuntu Packages

Steps to reproduce:

1) Open System Settings and navigate to splash screen configuration

2) Click on Get New Themes

3) Click on an Install button to get a new splash screen

4) The button should turn to Uninstall (occasionally this does not happen but only for certain items; if that happens, try a different item)

5) Close the dialog. Note that no new theme was installed.

6) In a shell or explorer, navigate to ~/.kde/share/apps/ksplash/Themes - Note there will be a new file in there. View it. Note it will be some HTML page directing you where to go download the actual file you need.

If you download the file manually and then ask the configuration to read the file from the hard drive all is well.
