I tried the following: I moved .kde/share/apps/konq* and .kde/share/config/konq* out of the way and attempted to restart konqueror. The result was still an immediate crash. I then successfully opened Konqueror using this command: kfmclient openProfile filemanagement BUT, as soon as I tried to put the address of any website in the address bar, the result is an immediate crash. OS: Fedora 10 (fully updated) KDE version: KDE that ships with Fedora 10 *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 157850 *** @rdieter: this means an old html4.css is getting picked up. Based on Comment #3, I moved "/usr/share/apps/khtml/css/html4.css" out of the way and attempted to start Konqueror. The result is that it now works. No more crash... This is great, but it forces a few questions (since this is a VERY recent fresh install of Fedora 10): If the mere presence of "/usr/share/apps/khtml/css/html4.css" was causing Konqueror to crash, when did it appear on my system, and how did it get there? The other question that arises is, if it has been here for the entire few days that I have had this new computer/fresh install of Fedora 10, when did this file begin to be a problem, and why did it happen? Anyway, at least I can now use Konqueror as a web browser if I want to. rpm -q --whatprovides /usr/share/apps/khtml/css/html4.css may give some clues... I don't know anything about Fedora's setup of things, though. *** Bug 208677 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** |
