If you can reproduce the crash at will, may you read http://techbase.kde.org/Development/Tutorials/Debugging/How_to_create_useful_crash_reports and post a complete backtrace here? Thanks :) The reporter sent me some e-mails: He was doing the following: - Start Konqueror (he changed the default to show the home folder instead the Welcome page) - Bypass a malformed URL" error message (another bug) - Split Views (horizontal or vertically) Konqueror crashed This doesn't happen when using Dolphin. The "malformed URL" bug could be related to bug 169307 Created attachment 32520 [details]
Crash when closing a split view when viewing jpeg images
In using Konqueror to view photographs, I had opened Konqueror, selected Show navigation panel, opened a jpeg image, selected View-mode=>embeddable-image-viewer, opened a split left/right view, resized the view, and closing the split view then caused the crash.
Note that the above actions are not a precise sequence of events ...
@Howard: your crash is probably bug 172135. Can you post your information there? Thanks :) I have exactly the same crash, as described in comment #2 - start Konqueror (starting on /home/name/) - bypass 2 "bad url messages" - asking for "split vertically" causes Konqueror to crash Moreover: - I did not have this problem until I switched to the latest LTS version of Kubuntu. I am unable to reproduce the crash. Qt: qt-copy 979410 KDE: 4.2.92 (KDE 4.2.92 (KDE 4.3 >= 20090617)) kdelibs svn rev. 983828 / kdebase svn rev. 983852 on ArchLinux i686 - Kernel 2.6.29.4 Works here too on current trunk, so I'm closing this report for now. Please feel free to reopen it, if this problem can be reproduced with a more recent version of KDE. |
