If you can reproduce the crash at will in a recent KDE (4.1.3 /4.2beta2 /4.2svn) , can you read http://techbase.kde.org/Development/Tutorials/Debugging/How_to_create_useful_crash_reports and post a complete backtrace here? Thanks :) This is the first time I'm doing this so I hope I'm doing it right. Ark crashed when I dragged and dropped a folder from Rox file manager into the open Ark window. System: Mandriva 2009.0, kernel 2.6.27.7-1-desktop-1mnb, KDE 4.1.3 Ark 2.11.999, IceWm and Rox File Manager. Here is the crash report from Ark Application: Ark (ark), signal SIGSEGV (no debugging symbols found) (no debugging symbols found) (no debugging symbols found) (no debugging symbols found) (no debugging symbols found) (no debugging symbols found) (no debugging symbols found) (no debugging symbols found) (no debugging symbols found) (no debugging symbols found) (no debugging symbols found) (no debugging symbols found) (no debugging symbols found) (no debugging symbols found) (no debugging symbols found) (no debugging symbols found) [Thread debugging using libthread_db enabled] [New Thread 0xb60926d0 (LWP 28909)] (no debugging symbols found) (no debugging symbols found) (no debugging symbols found) (no debugging symbols found) (no debugging symbols found) (no debugging symbols found) (no debugging symbols found) (no debugging symbols found) (no debugging symbols found) (no debugging symbols found) (no debugging symbols found) (no debugging symbols found) (no debugging symbols found) (no debugging symbols found) (no debugging symbols found) (no debugging symbols found) (no debugging symbols found) (no debugging symbols found) (no debugging symbols found) (no debugging symbols found) (no debugging symbols found) (no debugging symbols found) (no debugging symbols found) (no debugging symbols found) (no debugging symbols found) (no debugging symbols found) (no debugging symbols found) (no debugging symbols found) [KCrash handler] #5 0xb4a44293 in ?? Anyways, in two days KDE4.2 final will be released... and the Ark in that version is really improved (Ark for KDE4.1 was buggy). A big part of the code changed. Let wait for that and check again if you experience this in KDE4.2 Can you please confirm if this still happens with KDE4.2.2? First: there are two separate bug reports here, both of which seem to have been fixed in 4.2 or trunk. Closing as FIXED. If you are still able to reproduce it with 4.2.2+, please reopen. |
