Description Luciano Leveroni 2008-07-06 22:34:31 UTC
Version: (using Devel)
Installed from: Compiled sources

I've a few partition with special purposes. For example, I have an XFS partition to place downloaded stuff. In Dolphin, this partition appears as "Volume (xfs)" with an HD icon. This is ok for default, but I have no way to rename (nor change the icon) as a would normally do with other folders which appear on the "Places" sidebar. It would be great to have an option in context menu to provide this. Also, USB drive volumes should also be allowed to be renamed.

Thanks!

PS: Btw, I'm using KDE 4.1 SVN from a Gentoo overlay (>= 20080703).

This wishlist item is a dup of #156534

Regarding the volume label: I've already looked for a generic way to change the label of a volume, but it looks like Solid/HAL currently do not provide this or I haven't found it. Displaying it should be easier - functionality is provided by Solid.

It is being worked on getting 'DeviceKit-disks' integrated into KDE.
