Description Urtzi Jauregi 2008-06-27 14:05:29 UTC
Version: (using KDE 4.0.83)
Installed from: Ubuntu Packages

When I right-click on the desktop and select "Desktop Settings" > "New Wallpaper", the HD begins to work like crazy and the responsiveness of the whole system slows down to the point that the computer is unusable. This lasts several minutes, apparently until all the new wallpaper previews have been generated.

Likewise, selecting a new wallpaper form the "New Wallpapers" menu freezes the system for 1 minute or so until the new wallpaper is set.

If I interrupt the process and log out, the next time I login the desktop doesn't start: I just see the (working) mouse cursor on a black background. I have to delete the .kde4 directory and start over with the desktop configuration.
