That's about it really other than a simple resolution that might even be preferable to some is to restrict the filters and the check into the address book to just the actual email address enclosed in < >. Why not use only the email address on the filter? If you filter: "J L Smith < jlsmith@somewhere.com>" and the name has been changed to "Something Else < jlsmith@somewhere.com>", it is right that the filter fails. Moreover, when you create a filter on the "From" field, the filter uses only the email. This seems not a real problem IMHO. Thank you for taking the time to file a bug report. KMail2 was released in 2011, and the entire code base went through significant changes. We are currently in the process of porting to Qt5 and KF5. It is unlikely that these bugs are still valid in KMail2. We welcome you to try out KMail 2 with the KDE 4.14 release and give your feedback. |
