I don't think this backtrace is very useful. Please install the -dbg packages for kde4.

Yes and also try it with KDE 4.0.3. If it works there or if you can't get more informations, this bug should be closed.

Like descibed in another bug, try this first:
remove your ~/.kde/share/config/plasma-appletsrc and try again.

My hd broke, unable to test the changes, if only I was that reportei this possible bug, I do not think there is a need him still be in bug tracking system. Thank you for your time and congratulations for the work you do from time KDE.
