Description Vincent Panel 2006-08-14 15:13:15 UTC
Version: (using KDE KDE 3.5.4)
Installed from: Mandriva RPMs

In these times of Single Sign-on, you generally have several passwords and logins which are exactly the same. For instance, my proxy, imap and smtp credentials are the same. I can even check my email through konqueror (webmail) and the credentials are once again the same. If I change one of them, all the others will be changed too (either there's a LDAP or Active directory behind, I don't really know, but I don't have access to this machine, for sure) and currently, I have to renew all the passwords stored in kwallet.

So I'd love to be able to "bind" credentials together which means that when I'll change one of these passwords in kwallet, all the others will change too.

If you implement this, please only bind passwords (and not usernames) in the credentials because sometimes, I have to enter my NT domainname before my username separated by a backslash, sometimes I don't have to do this.

I believe this feature would be really usefull to many people. I am currently working for a Linux friendly multi-national computer company. I use about 30+ internal sites, and systems all secured by the same username/password which is stored on a centralised ldap system. The Password change rule causes pain every few weeks !

Well, this has been sitting around for ages and noone noticed that it is a duplicate. If you think there's a considerable difference between this bug and the other one, please tell me and I'll reopen this wish.

*** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 98249 ***
