In http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/de/8/8b/WikiPress_1_Wikipedia.pdf almost all headlines are garbled text. See for example the directory (page 4). Other PDF viewers (acroread/gpdf) show the file without problems.

Yet another [k]ubuntu-font problem because their freetype sucks, i bet you got them as possible duplicates but you choosed to ignore them.
