There are various problems concerning nfs. We made a solution to place the database on another location with a special hack. So if you insist in using nfs, please consider using that hack. It can be found elsewhere in bko. It is beyond the scope of digiKam to fix these issues. I experienced that problem as well when I placed the Digikam database on a volume mounted via NFS version 3. The problem did no longer exist when I switched to NFS version 4 although it is not much fun even with 100 MBit/s. Using it over 54 MBit/s WLAN is not really an option. I have spent quite time searching for the aforementioned 'hack' (just short of the time required to rehack it myself I would guess!) and can't locate it so if anyone has a reference to it I would be greatful ! gg: digikam nfs 1st result, although 2nd is better ;-) This seems to be relevant: http://article.gmane.org/gmane.comp.kde.digikam.devel/2166/ |
