Since updating to DBUS 0.33.x and HAL 0.5.x media seems to ignore USB mass storage devices. It still updates to show CDs and DVDs inserted (but has trouble mounting them - that'll have to be another report). However USB devices don't show up.

They do appear in the output of lshal, and the respective /dev nodes are created so I know the system is finding them.
