Hi,

since cvs HEAD of 2004-11-04 kdm has crashed before showing the greeter window. This still happens with cvs HEAD of 2004-11-11. 
Switching off kdm's xconsole (ShowLog=false) will make greeter work again (but w/o xconsole, of course).

I'll attach some debug output shortly
