SUMMARY When the Task Switcher (Alt+Tab) is open, scrolling the mouse wheel in either direction always moves the selection forward to the next window. It is no longer possible to navigate backward to the previous window using the mouse wheel. This worked correctly before a recent system update. Pacman reports the update as kwin (6.6.5-4 -> 6.7.0-3) and then (6.7.0-3 -> 6.7.1-1), it worked correctly in 6.6.5. On KDE Linux, I cannot reproduce the issue with scroll gestures on a trackpad, and I don't have a mouse with a wheel handy right now. Does it work as expected in a new clean user account on the same computer with no customization applied?
I created a test user and can confirm that the bug still persists in that session.

On git master with Fedora, I can reproduce this (even with touchpad swiping). It does not seem to depend on the switcher used - I can reproduce with Compact, Thumbnail Grid, and Large Icons.
In src/tabbox/tabbox.cpp, TabBox::pointerAxis(): const QModelIndex index = m_tabBox->nextPrev(event->delta); But It should be const QModelIndex index = m_tabBox->nextPrev(event->delta > 0); (Atleast I think so), I did a makepkg with this one change and it now works correctly.
Looking at https://invent.kde.org/plasma/kwin/-/merge_requests/9520 It should be fixed in 6.7.3, yippie!

So 6.7.3 is here, but that MR is still open and the issue still exists, so those fixed-in tags seem wrong :( Was is forgotten or is there a problem with the fix? I see the TODO and the natural scroll discussion, but those both seem like separate issues...
Correct, the "Version Fixed/Implemented In" field should not have been set (and the bug was and is still CONFIRMED, not RESOLVED FIXED). The "natural" scroll thing is relevant to the fix though - otherwise it would just introduce a different bug.

Yeah, I don't really know how the KDE commit process works (I've only learnt git process last year) and I didn't feel like it was my place to ask but why is this simple commit taking so long to be approved?
It's not been approved and merged because a kwin maintainer requested a further change to make the behavior more consistent, the original submitter has not implemented this change, and no one else has submitted a different fix that addressed that problem.
