Created attachment 192515 [details] system Breeze Global Theme *** The new global theme creator that was introduced in plasma 6.6 doesn't at all work well. I did some experimenting. - I activated the Breeze global theme given by the system (first attachment) - I moved the panel to the left side of the screen and changed the size a bit (second attachment) - I created a new global theme of the situation of the second attachment - finally I activated this new global theme. Result in third attachment. I could go on en on. It just never is "spot on" *** DESCRIPTION STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Change a global theme of the system/distribution (eg breeze) 2. Create a new global theme of this situation 3. apply new global theme OBSERVED RESULT The applied new global theme is wrong EXPECTED RESULT The applied new global theme is exactly the way I made it. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Operating System: Kubuntu 26.04 LTS KDE Plasma Version: 6.6.4 KDE Frameworks Version: 6.24.0 Qt Version: 6.10.2 Kernel Version: 7.0.0-15-generic (64-bit) Graphics Platform: Wayland Processors: 4 × Intel® Celeron® J4105 CPU @ 1.50GHz Memory: 8 GiB of RAM (7.4 GiB usable) Graphics Processor: Intel® UHD Graphics 600 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Created attachment 192516 [details] changed Breeze global theme a bit and made a new global theme of this
Created attachment 192517 [details] After applying the new global theme it looks like this
From time to time I did some testing with this new functionality and not one time was the result as expected.
Can confirm, the panel sizes are completely wrong: - The height/width is not being saved - The "fill content" setting is not being saved - The custom positioning is not being saved Operating System: KDE Linux 2026-05-22 KDE Plasma Version: 6.7.80 KDE Frameworks Version: 6.27.0 Qt Version: 6.11.1 Kernel Version: 7.0.9-arch1-1 (64-bit) Graphics Platform: Wayland Processors: 12 × AMD Ryzen 5 3600 6-Core Processor Memory: 16 GiB of RAM (15.5 GiB usable) Graphics Processor: AMD Radeon RX 6600
(In reply to Akseli Lahtinen from comment #4) > Can confirm, the panel sizes are completely wrong: > - The height/width is not being saved > - The "fill content" setting is not being saved > - The custom positioning is not being saved > > Operating System: KDE Linux 2026-05-22 > KDE Plasma Version: 6.7.80 > KDE Frameworks Version: 6.27.0 > Qt Version: 6.11.1 > Kernel Version: 7.0.9-arch1-1 (64-bit) > Graphics Platform: Wayland > Processors: 12 × AMD Ryzen 5 3600 6-Core Processor > Memory: 16 GiB of RAM (15.5 GiB usable) > Graphics Processor: AMD Radeon RX 6600 Also seems system tray icon settings are not being saved
Just to clarify, by "being saved" i mean "either not saved or loaded properly"

Systray icons being reset is another bug: https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=520513
Fixed by Akseli Lahtinen with https://invent.kde.org/plasma/plasma-workspace/-/commit/54d05ea274e86a49bfe9786b791dea2c3f250e7a for Plasma 6.7.0!
I just received a lot of updates (kde neon testing). I tried again. I created a global theme - first attachment - and created a global theme of it. Then I applied this global theme. Result in second attachment. Panel left side 100% ok. Top panel not ok.

neon Testing doesn't have the fix yet. Only neon Unstable does.
