SUMMARY Text copy from a document in Libreoffice Writer Flatpak may not actually copy to clipboard on KDE. I chose the clipboard component, but this may be an issue with Flatpak/GTK/general copy text in kwin's Wayland. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. select a word in a Writer document by double clicking or triple clicking to select a word with special characters 2. copy with ctrl+C 3. Check the clipboard. OBSERVED RESULT I am not sure exactly what triggers this. It may copy or it may not. I am not sure what determines the reason at this point. EXPECTED RESULT Selected word or text to copy every time to clipboard. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Linux/KDE Plasma: Aurora Linux Stable (Nvidia) KDE Plasma Version: 6.6.4 KDE Frameworks Version: 6.25.0 Qt Version: 6.10.3 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION This issue does not appear on Fedora 43 GNOME with the native rpm build of Libreoffice. I just checked the Libreoffice AppImage. It does not have this text copy issue: Information is below: Version: 26.2.2.2 (X86_64) Build ID: 1f77d10d6938fd34972958f64b2bcfa54f8b1ba5 CPU threads: 16; OS: Linux 6.19; UI render: default; VCL: kf5 (cairo+wayland) Locale: en-US (en_US.UTF-8); UI: en-US Calc: CL threaded
I'm not able to reproduce this on Fedora after a few attempts. I'll leave this open so others can try to reproduce
There have been a ton of clipboard fixes in the past few months. Can you still reproduce the issue with Plasma 6.7.4 or later with Frameworks 6.28 or later?

My apologies for the wait. The issue is improved, but still present. I was able to narrow down some important details. The Libreoffice flatpak (at least with Writer) copies fine on the same monitor to a text file. When Libreoffice is placed on a second monitor. I have two; one rotated 90 degrees; the rotated monitor on the right, being copied to the landscape monitor on the left does show the copy bug. The copy will work fine the first time, but the second time it will not, it will copy text properly on the 3rd time to the text program. The issue will alternate every other time. Both monitors are both the same make and model. The one on the right is increased by 150% text size, but this did not make a difference when I set it to 100% and logged out and logged in. The copying was done with ctrl+c. I do not believe I was able to get it working with menu clicking and selecting copy from libreoffice. Tested on Aurora Plasma: 6.7.4 Frameworks: 29.0 QT: 6.11.1
Hi, I can also reproduce it. It's not always happening so I didn't manage to have a clean reproducer... I tried on Kate but could not reproduce in my few minutes attempts so seems Writer specific. I'm using LibreOffice 26.2.5.2 (x86_64), compilation https://git.libreoffice.org/core/commit/cd7284b4cbbfeb507e630c1aac019f4157393acb
I can also reproduce that with the LibreOffice Flatpak on KDE Linux. Furthermore, I don't need to put LibreOffice on the secondary screen or even have two screens. The pattern is this: In LibreOffice Writer, only every *other* Ctrl+C puts the selected text on the clipboard. So it works exactly half the time, in a regular pattern of working and then not working. Even without the text being successfully on the system clipboard, pasting it back into the same window works. So you won't notice that it happened unless you keep your clipboard popup visible, or try to paste the text into another window.
Interesting observation while debugging: I can reproduce this exactly as Nate says, but NOT while having the kwin debug console open in the Clipboard tab
