This can be an issue when the magnifier tool is set to small size, as the mouse pointer then takes up most of the magnified area. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. In preview, select the magnifier from the toolbar 2. Move over the image 3. Note that the mouse pointer stays at the middle of the magnifier OBSERVED RESULT When the magnifier circle is active, that is, on the image and not over the toolbar or any other interface element, the mouse pointer is still visible. EXPECTED RESULT The mouse pointer should be hidden when the magnifier circle is active on an image. It should reappear when the magnifier circle disappears when moved off the image. The behavior is normal as you need to know where the magnifier point over the canvas.

Points taken, but I'd suggest you know where the pointer position is, as it is in the middle of the magnifier circle. Unless the magnifier has some use in another function, e.g. sampling a pixel for white balance, then having a very obvious pointer in the middle of the magnifier circle is only acting as an obscuration. To see what is at the centre of the magnifier at present, one has to position the magnifier off-centre. At present, once the magnifier is moved off the image, the magnifier disappears and one is just left with the mouse pointer. All I'm suggesting is a flip between the two states when the mouse is actually on the image while the magnifier is active. As a compromise, maybe the pointer could be changed to something like a semi transparent cross in the middle of the magnifier. Then you still know where the centre point is, and the image is not obscured like in the provided example.
