Description Musikolo 2026-02-21 17:19:59 UTC
SUMMARY
My computer has a three-screen setup. I like to have app 1 on screen 1, app 2 on screen 2 and app 3 on screen 3. When I log out and log back in, those 3 apps are restored, but they are all open on the same screen, which forces me to relocate each app to the screen I prefer. It would be greatly appreciated if the session would also remember the screen each app was located on, so that when the session restores, each app appears on the same screen it occupied before logging out.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Place one app on each of your screens.
2. Log out.
3. Log back in.

OBSERVED RESULT
1. Your apps are restored in a single screen.

EXPECTED RESULT
1. Each app is restored on the same screen it occupied before logging out.

The current session restore is rather limited. We're working on implementing the proper session restore protocol in KWin but that tatkes time and effort.
